It doesn't matter where you live — you can still become a patient.
The same comprehensive blood work, the same functional-range review, the same personalized plan — with the draw done at a LabCorp near you and the review done by phone or video with Dr. Ozzie.
Virtual functional medicine works because the foundation of our care is measurement — a 40+ marker wellness panel read through functional ranges. That panel can be drawn at any LabCorp in the country, which means the whole analysis-and-plan workflow travels to you. Patients from outside Texas have worked with the practice this way for years.
Honest Scope — Before You Book
- Lab draws at any U.S. LabCorp — no appointment needed
- Results reviews by phone or video, plus written recommendations
- We can't order requisitions for NJ, NY, RI, or outside the U.S.
- Hands-on care (chiropractic, applied kinesiology) requires an office visit
Seven steps, no mystery.
- 01
Book a virtual consult
Book online through Practice Better or call 214-395-7264. We'll talk through your history, symptoms, and goals — and confirm virtual care fits your situation before anything is ordered.
- 02
Receive your lab requisition
Order the comprehensive wellness panel and your requisition form is emailed to you within 48 hours. No doctor's visit needed to get the order.
- 03
Complete the draw near home
Take the printed requisition to any LabCorp location — no appointment required. Fast at least 8 hours beforehand, so first thing in the morning works best.
- 04
Your results reach the office
Results arrive about 48–72 hours after your draw. The panel covers 40+ markers: CBC, full metabolic panel, complete thyroid panel, ferritin & iron, vitamin D, HbA1c, insulin, lipids, and hs-CRP inflammation.
- 05
Review them with the doctor — from anywhere
Dr. Ozzie walks through your results with you by phone or video, read through functional ranges — the tighter, health-oriented ranges that reveal patterns a "normal" report can miss.
- 06
Get your personalized plan
After the review you receive written lifestyle and supplement recommendations based on your actual results — not a generic protocol.
- 07
Retest and refine
Progress is verified, not assumed: follow-up reviews compare new labs against your baseline so the plan evolves with your results.
Same doctor. Two ways in.
Everything lab-driven travels; everything hands-on happens in Flower Mound. Many out-of-area patients start virtually and visit the office when they're in North Texas.

Is virtual functional medicine effective?
For lab-driven work — comprehensive blood analysis, nutrition planning, supplement guidance, and follow-up reviews — yes: the data is identical to an in-office workup, because the same LabCorp draw and the same functional-range review happen either way. What virtual care can't replace is hands-on treatment: chiropractic adjustments and applied kinesiology require an office visit.
Can I order labs from home?
Yes. You purchase the recommended wellness panel, your requisition form is emailed within 48 hours, and you take it to any LabCorp location near you — no appointment needed. Results reach our office about 48–72 hours after the draw.
Which states can you serve virtually?
Lab requisitions work at LabCorp locations across the United States, with three exceptions we cannot order for: New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. We also can't provide out-of-country requisitions. If you're in one of those states, call the office — we'll talk through your options honestly.
Do I need to fast before the blood draw?
Yes — at least 8 hours. Most patients go first thing in the morning before breakfast. Water is fine.
What happens after my results come in?
You schedule a phone or video review with Dr. Ozzie. He walks through the panel marker by marker, explains what the functional ranges show, and follows up with written lifestyle and supplement recommendations based on your results.
Should I choose virtual or in-person care?
If you live near Flower Mound, start in the office — you get the full toolkit, including the hands-on assessments. If you're anywhere else in the U.S. (outside NJ/NY/RI), virtual care gives you the complete lab-analysis workflow without travel. Not sure? Use the Care Path Finder or just call — we'll tell you plainly which fits.
Start from wherever you are.
One call sets the whole path in motion — requisition, draw near home, and a results review that finally explains what's going on.
