Functional medicine for Lewisville patients

Being told your results are normal while you still feel wrong is its own kind of frustrating. It usually means the question was too narrow — one symptom, one system, one panel compared against a population average instead of against you.

Dr. Ozzie has practised on this road since 2000, board-certified, Texas licence #8418. The approach starts from the opposite end: find the contributing patterns first, then decide what to do.

Three domains, assessed together

Physical, structural and neurological. Movement, muscles, joints, fascia, posture, gait, balance, coordination, old injuries, sensory input, recovery, and brain-body communication.

Chemical and biochemical. Nutrition, digestion and absorption, hydration, blood sugar, hormones, immune activity, inflammation, nutrient status, and the effect of current medications.

Mental and emotional. Stress load, sleep, and the demands daily life is actually placing on a body.

These three rarely fail on their own. A digestive problem can start as a stress problem; fatigue can be structural, biochemical, or both at once. Examining them separately is how someone ends up with three partial explanations and no plan.

What people bring in

Fatigue and low energy, gut and digestive problems, thyroid health, hormone imbalance, chronic inflammation, sleep and stress, food sensitivities, blood sugar issues, brain fog and weight that will not shift. Usually after each has been looked at separately somewhere else.

The usual starting point

Most people begin with the Health Triad Comprehensive Evaluation™ — ninety minutes, $449, in the Flower Mound office. It is built for persistent, complex or unexplained problems rather than a single isolated complaint.

It includes the consultation itself; a thorough review of health history, symptoms, lifestyle, prior care, medications and supplements, injuries and stress patterns; review of recent bloodwork supplied beforehand; an OptimalDX blood chemistry analysis and report when recent markers allow it; a read on which patterns and contributors matter most; and a clear account of what to do next.

Worth knowing in advance: the Evexia Advanced Wellness Blood Chemistry Panel is not bundled in. If you already have recent labs, they may be enough. If new testing is warranted, you will hear what it costs before it is ordered.

What happens after the evaluation

Nothing is prescribed by category. What follows depends on what the assessment actually found, and it is discussed with you rather than handed over.

For some people that means targeted work in one area — chiropractic care, applied kinesiology, nutritional therapy, supplement guidance where it is warranted. For others it means further measurement first, because the useful next question has not been answered yet. Where a longer structured approach fits, the practice runs multi-week programs built around the same three domains, and where it does not, it is not suggested.

If your main need turns out to be new blood chemistry with a virtual review, that is the Executive Biomarker Review™ ($495). If you already hold recent labs and mostly want them properly interpreted, that is the Blood Work Second Opinion™. Being pointed to the cheaper, narrower option when it is the right one is part of the job.

How this works if you live in Lewisville

You are already on the right road. FM 1171 is Main Street through Lewisville and Cross Timbers Road once it crosses into Flower Mound — the same road, two names. From Old Town it is under three miles due west, no freeway involved.

That proximity is worth more than the time it saves. Plans involving hands-on chiropractic work, applied kinesiology or repeat body composition measurement need you physically present, sometimes several times over. When the office is a few minutes away, the plan can be built around what is clinically sensible rather than around how often you are willing to make the drive.

Remote options exist and are used where they genuinely fit — lab review in particular can be handled from home, drawn at any LabCorp and reviewed by phone or video. For most Lewisville patients it simply is not necessary.

Before you call

Referral needed? No, you can book yourself in.

Insurance? Cash-based concierge care, with HSA and FSA accepted. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the only insurance the practice takes.

How quickly is there a direction? The evaluation is ninety minutes and ends with the findings and a recommended next step, rather than a wait for results to be explained later.

And if it is not a fit? You will hear that directly rather than being enrolled in something anyway.

Cost, insurance and what to bring

The practice is cash-based concierge care, with HSA and FSA accepted and Blue Cross Blue Shield the only insurance taken. For the first visit bring recent labs, a full list of medications and supplements, and any imaging or specialist notes. Bloodwork sent in advance gets reviewed before the appointment starts.

Call 214-395-7264 with questions, or book the evaluation directly. If what you are dealing with sits outside what this practice does, you will be told so plainly.
