Accessibility Statement

We want every patient to be able to use this website.

Last Updated: July 3, 2026

Plain-Language Summary

We want everyone — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology — to be able to use this website. We build and test toward the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard, and we keep working on it as the site changes. If anything on the site is hard for you to use, tell us at [email protected] or 214-395-7264, and we will fix the issue or get you the information another way — promptly.

Our Commitment

Functional Medicine & Wellness Center is committed to ensuring that our website at www.functionalmedicinecenter.com is accessible to people with disabilities, consistent with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable accessibility guidance. Accessibility is part of how we serve every patient in the Flower Mound & Denton County community — online as well as in our office.

Conformance Target

Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. The website is currently partially conformant, meaning most content conforms to the standard while some areas are still being improved.

Measures We Take

Accessibility measures built into this website include:

  • Semantic markup: proper HTML structure with meaningful headings, landmarks, lists, and labels so assistive technology can interpret each page correctly;
  • Text alternatives: descriptive alt text for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology;
  • Keyboard operability: navigation, menus, forms, and interactive features designed to be usable with a keyboard alone;
  • Color contrast: text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG Level AA contrast requirements;
  • Visible focus indicators: a clear visual outline showing where keyboard focus is at all times;
  • Reduced-motion support: animations respect the “prefers reduced motion” setting on your device;
  • Responsive design: content that reflows and remains usable when zoomed or viewed on small screens; and
  • Ongoing review: accessibility checks incorporated into our design and content-publishing process as the site evolves.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations may include: older documents or images added before our current standards; embedded third-party content; and newly published content that has not yet completed accessibility review. We are working to address these areas, and we prioritize fixes that affect core tasks such as finding our contact information and requesting an appointment.

Third-Party Content

Some features on or linked from this website are provided by third parties — for example, embedded maps, form-protection services (reCAPTCHA), fonts, review platforms, and social media. We do not control the accessibility of third-party content, and it may not meet the same standard we target. Where we learn of a barrier in third-party content, we will pursue an accessible alternative — and we will always help you complete the same task by phone or email.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome your feedback. If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of this website, or if you need information from the site in an alternative format, please contact us:

Please describe the problem and the page where it occurred. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two (2) business days and to resolve reported barriers promptly. In the meantime, our team will gladly provide the information you need or help you schedule an appointment by phone.
